Langtang Region
Langtang region
is north of Kathmandu Valley boarding Tibet. This Langtang region
is sandwiched between the main Himalayan range to the north and slightly
low ranges of snowy peaks to the south This region is protected as
Langtang National Park and has a number of snow-capped peaks and
mountains including Langtang Lirung (7246 m Highest in this region.).
The majority of people living in this region are Tamang and are fully
dependent on timber and firewood from the forest inside the park. The park
contains a wide variety of climate zone from subtropical to alpine. This
region is very much rich in natural beauty, full of flora where butter
and cheese produce to supply Tibet for local income.
This Region has a history of yeti sightings. Apart from these things, the Langtang region is also taken as the pilgrimage site for Hindu people due to having the holy Lake Gosainkunda which people visit there in August. It has a spiritual site called Kyanjin Gompa which is very important for Buddhist people all over the world. langtang region offers trekking trails like Langtang Valley Trek, Langtang Gosainkunda pass trek, and Tamang Heritage Trek. It also has river rafting, some beautiful climbing peaks, and viewpoints that attract people.
